SONM, a universal fog blockchain based supercomputer has announced they have reached their fundraising goal of $42 million. The milestone was hit just a few days after the launch of their initial coin offering.
The team said that interest in SONM was even bigger than expected. The project is still quite young and nascent and is still undergoing its development phases described in detail within the SONM roadmap.
SONM is an ethereum based network of globally distributed computational power. SONM project’s main purpose is to provide safe, cost efficient, means for executing general purpose computing workloads that can range from game servers all the way up to complex calculations of various forms of scientific research, using a free decentralized marketplace.
